The cryptocurrencies are still far from the real world. Trading commodities using cryptocurrencies, even the most common ones, is still quite challenging. We in FoodCoin Ecosystem team are striving to bring cryptocurrencies to the real world as much as possible.

Our work is already showing first results: a first deal in FoodCoin was recently made at 1000ecofarms platform. We asked the seller Yuri Smirnov from Krasnodar region of Russia to tell us about the experience of using the cryptocurrency and his thoughts about it.
Hello Yuri! Your first sale in FoodCoin is an important event for the cryptocurrencies world, as well as for the food industry. I congratulate you and I am very excited to discuss it with you.
Hello Anna!
It has been quite some time since I deal with cryptocurrencies, and it got me interested as I see that they make future. Anyway, in a matter of 5 or 10 years, or even earlier, and I suppose that most vendors will be using cryptocurrencies to trade. That is why we should look towards the future. When I found my first customer, the initial price was in euros, but the customer proposed to pay in cryptocurrency, in FoodCoin. I agreed because I was interested in how it will happen. First experience is always crucial.
We agreed on the price and made the transaction in FoodCoin, and then I sent the purchase. It was first experience for me. I am very interested to see how it will be developing and watch for the results, like what will happen with cryptocurrencies and especially with FoodCoin in a month or in a year. As I see that cryptocurrencies make the future, it really gets me interested.
It turns out that this deal was basically an experiment, wasn’t it?
It’s an experiment, and I don’t know what it will be like in a month. FoodCoin is a young coin after all. Probably, in about half a year, I will be making other deals in FoodCoin too. Anyway, I plan to raise a good amount of them for the future.
Were there any difficulties compared with sales for common currencies?
The only challenge I had was matching the price in euro with the price in crypto, as the Ethereum or Bitcoin price are quite volatile. However, we arranged it, agreed and made the transaction in FoodCoin.
We will implement soon this feature on our website. The prices will adapt automatically. You will see the price not only in euro, but also in Bitcoin, FoodCoin and other currencies you specify, according to the prices on leading exchanges. How do you think, will it simplify the task?
Yes, I think it will be pretty convenient. If you see the price rates in FoodCoin and USD, EUR, BTC or ETH – it would be great.
How will you use the raised FOODs?
Most probably I will use it for other deals, maybe not linked to 1000ecofarms only, maybe in very different fields.
By the way, regarding 1000ecofarms: what do you think about the idea to gather many farmers on one big platform? For me as a buyer, it would be convenient to come to a place where I can buy everything I need within one website. But will it be convenient from the farmer’s perspective?
I think that it will be another way to sell their goods. It doesn’t mean, of course, that the farmer must count on 1000ecofarms only. It’s obvious that he or she will use other possibilities to sale, for example, on own website or other ones. I think that it’s a good marketing option for the farmers. Especially, if there are many buyers and farmers ready to use this platform. Personally, I recommend my fellows to join too, so they can have another option to market their goods.
Can you tell, if it’s not a secret, what did you sell in your first deal with cryptocurrency?
It was honey. The honey produced locally, here in Krasnodar region. 9 kilograms of honey without thermal processing. The processed honey loses its properties, so it was raw honey, an organic and natural product. It’s really important. I think this is what 1000ecofarms platform was created for – so the people could trade organic products.
